Biography

Yara Francis serves as Special Assistant for Strategy and Policy at USU's Center for Global Health Engagement. She has over 20 years’ experience in print and audiovisual media, corporate and government consulting, strategic planning, risk assessment, and quantitative/qualitative media analysis. She has worked in various capacities at several US Government agencies as a strategic advisor, including the Department of Defense, US Agency for Global Media, and the US Agency for International Development.

Ms. Francis has a BA in Communication from Lebanese American University, an MA in International Relations and Political Communication from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and a Strategic Management Certificate from the Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies. She is a global fellow with Brown University’s Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies (CHRHS) and is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Arabic.
