In support of the USINDOPACOM Surgeon’s Office, CGHE supported execution of the 2023 Indo-Pacific Military Health Exchange (IPMHE), co-hosted with the Malaysia Armed Forces Health Services (MAFHS), bolstering Malaysia-U.S. relations. The event provided a platform for military healthcare professionals to collaborate on key health topics affecting the region, including disaster response, medical readiness, public health, and healthcare delivery improvements. CGHE assisted the USINDOPACOM Surgeon’s Office in managing the conference, shaping the agenda, and providing logistical support.
The Military-Civilian Health Security Summit (MCHSS) is a collaborative initiative between USINDOPACOM and the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The partnership was established in 2018, reflecting a shared commitment to addressing global health security challenges through a military-civilian collaboration. USU’s CGHE provided subject matter expertise in the “Countering Misinformation/Disinformation in the Global Health Security Space” session.
Indo-Pacific Health Security Cooperation Alliance (IPhsa)
The U.S. INDOPACOM and Australian Defence Force have formed a strategic global health security partnership, leading to the establishment of the Indo-Pacific Health Security Alliance (IPhsa). IPhsa aims to institutionalize ongoing efforts, expand partnerships, and enhance multisectoral global health security preparedness in the Indo-Pacific.
The Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) is a growing partnership of over 70 nations, international organizations, and non-governmental stakeholders to help build countries’ capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats, advancing a safer and more secure world, and elevating global health security as a national and global priority.
